Restory is an after-school club and day workshop for children passionate about creative writing, music, poetry, storytelling, literacy and the arts. The children will learn a handful of folktales and myths, discuss and then respond: ‘restorying’ a tale into their own creation. Children will have a chance to collaborate, experiment and share. Outcomes have included books, songs, dances, masks, costumes and more.

I facilitate creative learning through interactive sessions suited to your setting and focus. With a background in musical performance, workshops focus on promoting confidence and engagement in learning through new approaches. Some include storytelling, music, creative writing and collaborative performance. Most recently, my notable practice includes coaching a year 6 class to create 3 productions (A Midsummer Night’s Dream: A Musical, You’ve Got a Friend by Carole King and When I Grow up from Matilda). As a result of my coaching, the children wrote their own songs and performed in three-part harmonies using national curriculum objectives for KS2 music and poetry.

This workshop connects creative writing and performance, poetry and song- adjusted to curricular focus (English/Poetry/Music/Drama). This workshop encourages new ways of learning, collaborative skills and confidence.
